Taken over a series of months throughout multiple Furniture Showrooms in New York, Showroom Self-Portraits is a photographic series of my discreet performances within pre-existing room-sets of furniture galleries across New York.
Bearing in mind the interplay between domestic space and one's identity, I created and immersed myself in characters based upon the varying displays. Often I would incorporate personal props, to not only build out the scene, but to build my own connection to it.
Each successful, uninterrupted performance yielded a photo of the scene, as shown below. All photos were taken by myself with a remote trigger, without permission, within 15 minutes.
